In Therapeutic Touch, energy is also used. The TT practitioner scans the body with her hands to locate areas where the flow of universal energy is blocked. Once located the block is cleared, and the energy flow is restored in the body. The practitioner never actually touches the clients body, but instead manipulates the energy fields outside of the body.

Therapeutic touch is effectively used for preparation and recovery from surgical procedures, reducing side effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
